Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) is pleased to announce the launch of the tiny homes pilot project.
The project, which is being referred to as ‘Six Nations Tiny Homes’ during the pilot phase, is being undertaken by SNGRDC’s Project Management Team and led by Six Nations community members Robert ‘Dude’ Bomberry, Kali Hill, and Spring Sault.

SNGRDC has launched Six Nations Tiny Homes to help address longstanding issues related to housing on the Six Nations territory as identified in the 2019 Community Plan. Community members currently face many challenges related to housing that prevent them from owning a home on the territory, including lack of housing availability and affordability, poor quality housing, and more.

Six Nations Tiny Homes seeks to provide an innovative solution to these problems. Through this project, SNGRDC will offer affordable, safe, secure, and accessible housing to the community we serve. SNGRDC is thrilled the tiny homes are being designed and built by Six Nations community members for their own community.
Two model homes are currently in development: a 480 square foot, 1-bedroom model; and a 960 square foot, 3-bedroom model. The tiny homes are designed to be purchased and placed on the buyer’s land.

Six Nations community members are invited to view the model homes at an Open House on August 16, 2023, from 2:00pm-6:00pm at Oneida Business Park. The goal of the Open House is to showcase the homes to gauge interest from the Six Nations community before a final decision is made to formally launch the program.
