NICK JAVOR
Nick Javor is a branding and franchise specialist with experience as a senior executive, management consultant and corporate leader. For over a decade he has helped corporate Canada understand the impact of Indigenous Peoples and their contributions to Canadian business.
Nick was a senior executive at Tim Hortons for over twenty years. He created “Horizons,” the ground-breaking Indigenous engagement strategy for Tim Hortons. Previously, Nick was President of Mr. Lube Canada, Canada’s largest quick oil change specialist. He is a graduate of McMaster University where he received a BEng in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.
Recently Nick led the Alliance of Canadian Franchisees as its Executive Director. As principal of Oskee1Consulting, he has advised clients on strategic business development with a focus on franchising including franchisor-franchisee relations; business unit development and improving operations system delivery.
Since 2015, Nick has delivered in partnership with Indigenous leader and philanthropist Ted Nolan, franchise economic development programs for Indigenous owner/operators. Among the most notable achievements was establishing the first Indigenous-owned Tim Hortons franchise on the traditional lands of the Six Nations of the Grand River. Other successful projects included opening Tims franchises on: Kamloops Indian Band, Osoyoos Indian Band, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Salt River FN and Sagkeeng FN to name a few.
Nick has a personal commitment to First Nations and served as a volunteer board member on: the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business; the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation and as a Board Advisor to the Ted Nolan Foundation. He served as a judge and speaker at Y.E.S., the Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurs Symposium.
He currently sits on the board of Outside Looking In, an Indigenous led organization that empowers Indigenous Youth to thrive through experiential education that inspires them to engage in self-expression, embrace challenges and shape their path to success.
