Montreal, June 15, 2017 – In conjunction with Global Wind Day, Boralex Inc. (“Boralex”) (TSX: BLX), ENERCON and the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation inaugurated the Niagara Region Wind Farm (NRWF) this afternoon in the presence of Michael Weidemann, Executive Vice-President of ENERCON Canada, Matt Jamieson, President and CEO of the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation, and Patrick Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boralex.
The wind farm, which is located on private land of the Niagara regional municipality in Ontario, was commissioned on November 2, 2016 and has 77 ENERCON E-101 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 230 MW. The project has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and will power more than 76,000 homes per year throughout its operating life.
