SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND RIVER, ON- September 20, 2017- On September 20, the Delta Management Group announced Matt Jamieson, President/CEO of Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) as a 2018 Canada Clean50 and a Canada Clean16 award honouree under the category of renewable energy. The award recognizes 50 individuals or small teams, in 16 different categories, who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past 2 years.

“It is a great privilege to be acknowledged as one of the Clean50 recipients. Through various sustainable development projects and initiatives, we have been able to pursue economic development for our community while embracing our community’s values of preservation and protection of our environment.” said Matt Jamieson, President/CEO of SNGRDC.

With Jamieson at the helm, SNGRDC has positioned themselves as a viable First Nations business partner, specifically in the renewable energy industry. SNGRDC currently manages Six Nations of the Grand Rivers economic interests in 14 renewable energy projects and numerous economic development opportunities.

SNGRDC’s current green energy portfolio is capable of producing nearly 900 MW of renewable energy through its direct or indirect involvement in seven solar, six wind and one hydroelectric project.  Surplus profits generated by SNGRDC are invested into the collective needs and priorities of the Six Nations community through the Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust (EDT) with under $5 million invested since 2016.

“Matt Jamieson was chosen after rigourous screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors, and was among recipients selected from an initial pool of approximately 600 well qualified nominees,” said Gavin Pitchford, Delta Management Group.

Jamieson will be amongst approximately 120 past and incoming Clean50 Honourees meeting on Thursday September 28th at the “Clean50 Summit 7.0” on Toronto Island, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues tackling common sustainability challenges.
