Audrey Hill Kanohtonyohs (‘she is naming things’) is Mohawk, Turtle Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River. She has four adult children and nine grandchildren. In 1977, she was the Office Manager for the newly-opened Native Services Branch, Children’s Aid Society of Brant, which was located in Ohsweken. The experience inspired her to seek higher education and provide child welfare services at Six Nations. She obtained an undergraduate degree at McMaster University and obtained a graduate degree in Psychology at the United States International University. She retired from child welfare services in 2014.
Prior to retirement and since, she has volunteered with the Indian Defense League of America and plays an active role in planning the Border Crossing Celebration. Today, she is ready to offer experience, knowledge and skills to the betterment of Six Nations of the Grand River.
