GRAND RENEWABLE WIND

Grand Renewable RGB logo White

Grand Renewable Wind is a partnership between Samsung Renewable Energy, Pattern Energy, and Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation.

The facility uses 67 Siemens Gamesa 2.3 MW wind turbines with blades and towers made in Ontario. The blades were manufactured in Tillsonburg by Siemens, and the towers were manufactured in Windsor by CS Wind with Ontario steel.

Electricity produced by the 149 MW wind facility is equal to the annual needs of ~120,000 Ontarians and sold to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Many Six Nations of the Development Corporation Projects go through a Community Investment Review as part of project development. Information regarding each community engagement is publicly available on the Six Nations Future website.
