NANTICOKE SOLAR
Nanticoke Solar is a partnership between Ontario Power Generation, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation.
Built on the former site of Ontario’s largest coal-fired plant, Nanticoke Generating Station (GS), the solar facility was connected to the provincial grid just more than a year after the former coal giant’s twin smokestacks came tumbling down. Nanticoke GS operated for more than 40 years before it stopped using coal as fuel in 2013.
Many Six Nations of the Development Corporation Projects go through a Community Investment Review as part of project development. Information regarding each community engagement is publicly available on the Six Nations Future website.
