Ohsweken, ON, May 26, 2025 – Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC), the economic development arm of the Six Nations community, and VersaPile Inc., a Manitoba-based helical pile contractor, announced today the formation of a partnership to perform work related to the construction of renewable energy infrastructure in Southern Ontario.

SNGRDC and VersaPile will collaborate to identify new business opportunities, with VersaPile leading business development efforts and SNGRDC working to leverage Indigenous procurement opportunities. VersaPile will support Six Nations in advancing its sustainable energy projects by providing engineered helical pile foundations where appropriate. Compared to traditional foundation methods, helical piles offer a significantly lower carbon footprint and can be installed with minimal soil disruption. Moreover, they are fully removable, allowing project sites to be remediated to their original state. Once uninstalled, helical piles can be repurposed for future projects or recycled, aligning with the long-term sustainability goals shared by both SNGRDC and VersaPile.
