OHSWEKEN, ON, July 31, 2025 – Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC), the economic development arm of Six Nations of the Grand River, is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Maple Leaf Matting, a Calgary-based company that provides environmental access matting solutions and operates across eastern Canada.
Through this agreement, SNGRDC will receive a share of profits from Maple Leaf Matting projects in Southern and Southwestern Ontario. Additionally, Aecon-Six Nations (A6N), a Six Nations-based construction company majority-owned by SNGRDC, will receive first right of refusal as a preferred sub-contractor. This approach strengthens SNGRDC’s capacity to grow its economic footprint and ensure greater Indigenous participation in regional projects, while creating job opportunities for Six Nations community members.
“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to economic reconciliation, meaningful partnerships, and long-term mutual success,” said Matt Jamieson, President & CEO of SNGRDC. “It is a relationship grounded in common values and a shared vision, and I look forward to the impactful work we will achieve together.”
“Maple Leaf Matting is honored to be given the opportunity to partner with SNGRDC and we look forward to working together to protect the environment with our temporary site access solutions,” said Shane Hopkie, CEO of Maple Leaf Matting.
