For Immediate Release: February 14, 2023 – The Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust (EDT) is pleased to announce an additional $780,000 in funding available for community investment in 2023. This is surplus funding that was not previously allocated as part of the first 2023 call for EDT applications.
Applications will be released on www.sixnationsedt.ca on February 15, 2023. The final application deadline is March 16, 2023, at 4:00pm.
“The EDT is pleased to be in a position to offer a second call for 2023 applications and hopes to see eligible community organizations and groups take advantage of this additional round,” said Alaina VanEvery, Chair of the Economic Development Trust. “Post-pandemic, it is imperative we strengthen our community in many ways; if your organization or group can fulfill community needs, please apply and allow these community dollars to help you facilitate growth within Six Nations.”
Those who were successful in obtaining funding in the first call for 2023 applications are not eligible to re-apply. Applicants are encouraged to take advantage of the pre-screening process, which allows applications to be reviewed prior to the final deadline to ensure that all sections are completed, and all proper documentation is included to give applicants the greatest chance of success. The pre-screening is available until March 10, 2023, at 4:00pm. For any questions regarding application pre-screening, please reach out to trust@sndevcorp.ca.
Applicant presentations will take place via Zoom on March 27, 2023. All successful applicants will be notified on March 30, 2023.
Since 2016, the EDT has invested over $16 million into the Six Nations community. The EDT funding is made possible through annual distributions of surplus profits from the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation.
