November 18, 2022, Six Nations – Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) has announced annual support of local schools will continue this year, with a pivot in approach.
Historically, the schools in Six Nations have been able to host a Toy Bingo at the Six Nations Bingo Hall, a division of SNGRDC. Toy Bingo assists local schools in their fundraising efforts to provide programming and activities to the students. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, Toy Bingo has not been able to operate since 2020. Six Nations Bingo continues to operate at a reduced capacity due to the impacts of COVID-19.
The SNGRDC Board of Directors recognizes the important impact the Toy Bingo fundraisers have for our local schools. As such, SNGRDC is excited to announce a financial contribution to each school.
In lieu of Toy Bingo, each of the seven schools in Six Nations will receive a $1,000 donation from SNGRDC, to use for school activities. This includes Emily C. General, I.L. Thomas, Jamieson, J.C. Hill, Oliver M. Smith, Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo, and the Everlasting Tree school.
SNGRDC and its Board of Directors hopes this contribution can assist the schools in providing needs to Six Nations future leaders.
