Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) is delighted to announce that $2,926.10 was raised for Iroquois Lodge from our annual Community Awareness BBQ event, held on May 9, 2024. The funds were raised from a prize raffle sponsored by SNGRDC’s Community Collaborator program, along with donation buckets positioned throughout the event.
“We at Iroquois Lodge are so grateful for donations and fundraisers from the community and community partners,” said Andrew Joseph, Administrator of Iroquois Lodge. “These donations allow Iroquois Lodge to purchase specialized equipment and furniture to enrich the Resident experience at Iroquois Lodge, purchases that we otherwise would not have the funds to acquire.”
This donation follows previous contributions from SNGRDC’s 2023 Community Awareness event, which raised $1,346.00 for Community Living Six Nations, and the 2023 Fall Festival, which raised $4,736.65 for Ganohkwasra Family Assault Support Services.
“I am so pleased that these events continue to provide us with an additional avenue to give back to the Six Nations community,” said Matt Jamieson, President & CEO of SNGRDC. “I would like to thank the attendees who purchased tickets and made donations, and I would also like to thank our Community Collaborators, whose tremendous support every year allows us to host these events free of charge for the community.”
The Community Collaborator program engages SNGRDC business partners to support local initiatives directly impacting the Six Nations community. The next SNGRDC Community Collaborator-sponsored event will be the Fall Festival, taking place on October 19, 2024, at Chiefswood Park.
SNGRDC would like to sincerely thank the Six Nations community for attending and for their steadfast support of Six Nations’ elders.
